I'm Kit a seasoned data engineer with a passion for diving deep into the tech stack and mastering the tools of the trade. With over seven years of experience, I've honed my skills across a diverse array of programming languages and technologies, always hungry to explore new horizons and push the boundaries of what's possible.


While my journey has taken me through the realms of shell scripting, PySpark, and various CLI tools like bq, gcloud, and gsutil, Python remains my trusty sidekick in the world of code. From crafting elegant solutions to tackling complex data challenges, Python is my go-to language for bringing ideas to life and driving innovation.


Currently, I'm making waves as a Data Engineer at a major online travel company, where I'm knee-deep in the exciting realms of Data Science, Analytics, and Machine Learning. ETL processes? You betcha—I've got those down to a fine art, transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive real-world impact. I'm all about that automation life. Why do manual tasks when you can automate them and free up your time for the fun stuff? Project ESAI

A contextual AI chatbot that uses NLP and other machine learning techniques to understand and respond to emergencies, helping to reduce strain on emergency response operators. A user can deploy an application which can be stand-alone or website integrated and is immediately connected to an AI operator to triage emergency situations. This system would act as a supplement to current 911 operations.

NYCity Watch 2019

NYCity Watch provides public safety information about New York City and looks at various factors including crime, EMS response times, and recent local news. The site provides a clean and modern material front-end design, interactive maps with various layers connected to API endpoints fed from NYC Open Data, data visualizations, and recent headlines scraped from popular news and social media outlets.

USGS LeafletJS Map

This simple project provides an interactive visualization of historic earthquakes over time using the JavaScript library, Leaflet.js. It provides a near-live feed of earthquakes around the world and their relative magnitudes. You can use the map to zoom in and out as well as toggle different visual layers over the map.

D3 Analytics 2019

This simple web visualization shows off the capabilities of D3 with the use of JavaScript event handlers. The data is collected from two government databases to display the correlations between various health risks and smoking. You can click the various axis labels on the chart to see the chart transform and adapt to the data selected.

Visualizing Data 2019

Data can be visualized without using numbers with a visualization called a word cloud. A word cloud allows you visualize the frequency with which an item appears in a set of data or show the importance of an item in a set of data by using the font size or color of the word to indicate its weight or significance. I used word clouds to show the frequency in which a given category was associated with the movies in the dataset which consisted of movies from the TMDB Top 5000 Movies Dataset as well as elements from the OMDB API.

Citbike Data Analysis

Solo project using analytics dashboards to provide insight into Citibike usage based on various demographics within New York City. Data visualizations provide insight into ridership by age and gender as well as fleet usage and highest volume stations.

NJ School Score Analysis

The goal of this analysis was to shine a light on the state of New Jersey, and attempt to find any patterns at the county and district level that might exist to explain what factors could impact whether a school is high rated versus low rated. An analysis of this type could help home buyers in choosing the right home to raise their kids in.

Micro-site displaying the dynamic search capabilities of JavaScript. Based on a UFO sighting dataset users can hover over the search icon and start typing. The search will begin as the typing starts. Use the Advanced Filter search multiple search terms. Nothing crazy here, give it try!
